The Swedish defender on his move to Cracovia. "I've heard nothing but positive things about the club."
Hansson (183 cm, 82 kg) is 27 years old and plays with the right stick. He's a defenseman who handles the puck well. What are his other strengths?
" I'd say I'm a strong, two-pronged defender because I'm good both defensively and offensively. I'm comfortable in the opponent's third, and I also like having the puck on my stick and using it during attacks ," one of the Stripes' newest signings described his strengths.
His resume includes two games in the Swedish Ekstraliga, 36 in its immediate hinterland, and 52 in the Alpine League. He spent the last three seasons in the Danish Metal Ligaen, representing two clubs: Rødovre Mighty Bulls and Frederikshavn White Hawks. He played 142 games for them, recording 59 points (18 goals and 41 assists).
Last season wasn't a particularly successful one for him. In 47 games, he scored twice, scored two key goals, and finished with a plus/minus of -52.
" Every year you learn new things and gain experience. Each stage has certainly made me a different player and person. So it's hard to choose the most important one, because I took away many positive things from my years playing in Sweden, Austria, and Denmark. I hope Cracovia will also develop me both athletically and personally, " explained Måns Hansson.
The 27-year-old Swede also talked about how he joined the team from Siedleckiego 7. He admitted that the opinion of his compatriots was important to him.
" I've spoken with a few teammates who played for Cracovia in the past and heard nothing but positive things about the club, the country, and the league. So I'm really excited and can't wait to showcase my skills in Poland, " he emphasized.
What are his goals for the upcoming season?
" I think my main goal for the upcoming season is to help the team and win as many games as possible. Personally, I intend to play my best hockey and bring joy to the fans watching me."
